Diezani Alison-Madueke has denied allegations of bribery and abuse of office while testifying in a UK court.
Appearing at the Southwark Crown Court, she insisted that she never requested, accepted, or received any form of bribe in exchange for awarding government contracts. She also told the court that she always acted impartially while in office.
Prosecutors, however, allege that she benefited from lavish expenses funded by businessmen, including luxury spending and access to high-value properties in London and other locations.
They also claimed that millions of pounds were spent on her lifestyle and property renovations, but she disputed the allegations, saying many of the expenses were related to official duties and later reimbursed.
The trial is ongoing, with co-defendants also facing related bribery charges.
