A former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to actively participate in the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, made the appeal in a video shared via his official X handle on Monday night.
The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party urged eligible Nigerians, particularly youths, to ensure they register with the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the polls.
He also encouraged citizens to join the ADC, which has been adopted by some opposition figures ahead of the next election cycle.
According to him, increased participation in the electoral process is critical to shaping the country’s future.
“Fellow Nigerians, this is the time for all eligible citizens, both young and old, across the country and in the diaspora, to take decisive steps,” he said.
Kwankwaso specifically urged Nigerians to complete their voter registration without delay and align with platforms they believe can drive change.
He stressed the need for collective action, noting that broad participation would strengthen the democratic process.
