Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is set to unveil a 52-member campaign team as he intensifies preparations for the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The campaign structure, named the Imole Campaign Council 2026, will serve as the central body coordinating the governor’s re-election strategy, grassroots mobilisation, and statewide political activities. The council is scheduled to be officially inaugurated on April 22, marking the start of full-scale campaign operations.
According to government sources, the team comprises a mix of politicians, technocrats, party leaders, and grassroots mobilisers, designed to ensure a broad and inclusive campaign structure.
Leading the council is Prof. Wale Ladipo as chairman, while Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi will serve as Director-General. The Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, has been appointed Deputy Director-General, with Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson and Prince Bola Ajao as secretary.
Other key appointments include Rep. Bamidele Salam, who will head the Media and Publicity Committee, and former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, who will oversee inter-party relations.
Beyond the central council, the campaign structure extends to all levels of the state. Federal constituency committees will be established across the nine constituencies, alongside local government teams in all 30 LGAs and ward-level structures across the 332 wards to strengthen grassroots engagement.
Political observers say the move reflects an early and well-organised approach to consolidating support ahead of the election, positioning Adeleke to ramp up campaign activities across Osun in the coming months.
