The All Progressives Congress has unveiled a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, outlining new dates for its internal processes and publishing designated bank accounts for the purchase of nomination forms.
The announcement, contained in a notice issued on Monday from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, was signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and confirmed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The party said the updated schedule aligns with provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to the timetable, the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms commenced on April 25 and will end on May 2, while submission of completed forms is scheduled to close on May 4, 2026.
Screening of aspirants is expected to hold between May 6 and May 9 across various categories, including State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and presidential aspirants.
The party fixed May 12 to May 13 for appeals arising from the screening of State Assembly and House of Representatives aspirants.
Primary elections are slated to begin on May 15 with the House of Representatives category, followed by Senate, State Assembly, governorship and presidential primaries, concluding on May 23, 2026.
The APC also released the fees for its nomination forms, pegging the presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at N30m and N70m respectively, while governorship aspirants are to pay N10m and N40m.
Senate aspirants are to pay N3m and N17m, House of Representatives aspirants N1m and N9m, and State Assembly aspirants N1m and N5m.
The party, however, granted concessions to female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities, who are required to purchase only the Expression of Interest forms and pay 50 per cent of the nomination fees.
It further directed that all payments be made into its designated bank accounts, listing Union Bank, UBA and Zenith Bank as approved channels.
The revised timetable comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties stepping up preparations to meet regulatory requirements and coordinate their primary processes nationwide.
