Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has announced his decision to leave the Labour Party and join the Peoples Redemption Party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Datti said internal crises and disagreements within Labour Party influenced his decision.
According to him, the party has moved away from the ideals it once stood for, adding that his resignation would officially take effect at midnight on Wednesday.
He described PRP as a party with deep historical roots and said it would now serve as his new political platform as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.
