Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, has criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, following his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Obi had earlier announced his withdrawal from the party, citing internal crises, legal battles, and divisions within the ADC. He also alleged that external interference contributed to instability in opposition parties.
Reacting on X, Onanuga described Obi as a “political nomad” and an “opportunistic fellow,” accusing him of avoiding competition for the party’s presidential ticket against figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
He further claimed Obi tends to blame the government instead of reflecting on his own political decisions, adding that his latest move shows inconsistency ahead of the 2027 elections.
Onanuga concluded by saying Obi’s political choices mirror his 2023 experience and suggested he has now entered the 2027 political race.
