NDC Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to Southern Nigeria — Galadima

Buba Galadima has revealed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 election to the southern region of the country.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television, Galadima stated that the party has already concluded its decision on zoning, emphasizing that the presidency will go to the South without ambiguity.

He also disclosed that the party is set to submit its membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within days, a move he said would formally position the party for the upcoming elections.

On the issue of candidate selection, Galadima made it clear that the NDC is prioritizing primary elections rather than adopting a consensus candidate.

The development comes shortly after prominent politicians, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, joined the party. Their defection followed internal disagreements within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), particularly over unresolved zoning arrangements.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, had consistently pushed for a clear zoning structure, arguing that fairness and power rotation are essential for unity within any political coalition.
