Saliu Mustapha has officially submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the governorship primary of the APC in Kwara State ahead of the 2027 general election.
The senator, who represents Kwara Central in the National Assembly, announced the development in a Facebook post on Wednesday, describing the move as a major step in his political journey.
According to Mustapha, the submission marks his official entry into the party’s screening process for the APC governorship ticket.
“Yesterday, I formally submitted my Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Ticket for Kwara State,” he said.
He added that his ambition is focused on building a more progressive and inclusive Kwara State, promising continued engagement with party leaders, stakeholders, and residents across the state.
“Together, we will continue to work towards the future our state truly deserves,” Mustapha stated.
Mustapha currently serves as chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development. He was elected senator for Kwara Central on the APC platform in 2023.
His declaration adds to the growing list of aspirants seeking the APC governorship ticket in Kwara ahead of the 2027 election.
