A 30-year-old person living with disability (PWD), Mahmud Sadis Buba, has successfully passed the screening conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives from Kaduna State.
Buba, popularly known as “Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau,” is seeking to represent the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency. He lives with dwarfism, a condition that affects physical growth and development.
The APC aspirant drew attention online after a video from his screening exercise surfaced on social media.
Speaking during the screening, Buba said he is the first child in a family of nine and holds a Senior Secondary School Certificate.
According to him, people from his constituency encouraged him to join the race and represent them at the National Assembly.
“I am not doing this for myself. It is from the people. People called me to serve them, and I will serve,” he said.
Buba is aiming to unseat Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, who won the seat under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 before later defecting to the APC.
Abdullahi is now seeking re-election on the platform of the ruling party.
