The City Boy Movement has dismissed reports claiming that Seyi Tinubu said nobody, “not even God,” could stop President Bola Tinubu from completing eight years in office.
The allegation surfaced in a viral Facebook post which accused the president’s son of making the controversial statement in relation to the 2027 presidential election. However, the movement described the claim as false, malicious, and aimed at causing religious tension in the country.
In a statement released on Monday, O’tega Ogra, deputy director-general of communication and public affairs of the movement, said Seyi Tinubu never made such remarks at any time or through any platform.
According to the statement, there is no video, recording, or evidence linking Seyi Tinubu to the alleged comment. The group added that he strongly believes that power belongs to God alone and that no individual can attain or retain authority without divine permission.
The statement further noted that attempts to portray him as disrespectful to religion were deliberate efforts to damage his reputation and misrepresent his values.
While reaffirming support for President Tinubu’s possible re-election in 2027, the movement stressed that all political ambitions and human efforts ultimately depend on God’s will.
