TCN Announces Six-Hour Power Outage in Parts of Ogun for Maintenance Work

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled six-hour power outage affecting parts of Ogun State on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The interruption is required to allow for maintenance work on the 40MVA 132/33KV transformer at the McPherson Transmission Substation.

According to a statement shared on TCN’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the maintenance will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Engineers will carry out preventive checks to improve the transformer’s performance and ensure the reliability of the transmission network.

During this period, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will not be able to supply electricity to customers in the McPherson, University, and Ogunmakin areas.

TCN explained that the exercise is necessary to reduce the risk of faults and enhance service delivery. The company apologized to affected residents and businesses, urging them to bear with the temporary inconvenience while the work is completed.
