A House of Representatives aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Kosofe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Remi Oluwalogbon-Odunsi, has rejected the outcome of the party’s primary election, alleging irregularities in the process.
The APC conducted its House of Representatives primaries nationwide on Saturday ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement personally signed on Sunday, Oluwalogbon-Odunsi said the figures being circulated as the outcome of the election did not reflect any credible voting process conducted in the constituency.
“I reject the purported results being circulated and announced in respect of the primary election held yesterday,” she stated.
The aspirant described the process as inconsistent with the party’s laid-down procedures for the conduct of primary elections, insisting that she could not accept the declaration being circulated.
“Accordingly, I do not recognise or accept the purported outcome being circulated. Acknowledging the results would amount to endorsing a process that did not follow due process,” she added.
Oluwalogbon-Odunsi disclosed that she had submitted a formal petition and appeal to the appropriate party authorities, calling for an urgent review of the exercise.
According to her, the petition detailed concerns surrounding the conduct of the primary and requested corrective measures from the party leadership.
She urged stakeholders of the APC to intervene, stressing that transparent and credible internal elections were necessary to preserve the integrity of the party and sustain the confidence of aspirants, delegates, and members.
The aspirant further noted that strict adherence to the party’s guidelines remained critical to unity and cohesion ahead of the general elections.
Oluwalogbon-Odunsi, however, reaffirmed her loyalty to the APC, maintaining that her decision to challenge the outcome was aimed at strengthening internal democracy within the party rather than creating division.
Dele Osinowo was earlier declared winner of the APC House of Representatives primary election for the Kosofe Federal Constituency.
The result has, however, continued to generate controversy following objections raised by some aspirants over the conduct of the exercise.
