Aloy Ejimakor, counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to the outcome of the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary involving celebrity businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest.
Ejimakor said the development reflected growing dissatisfaction among Igbo people towards President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a post shared on his verified X handle on Monday, the lawyer described the outcome of the APC primary in Imo State as an indication that many Ndigbo, including members of the ruling party, were unhappy with the Tinubu administration.
His reaction followed reports that Cubana Chief Priest failed to secure the APC ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.
However, the celebrity businessman had earlier denied participating in the exercise, insisting that he voluntarily withdrew from the contest after the party adopted a zoning arrangement for the constituency.
Reacting to the controversy, Ejimakor wrote, “Cubana’s epic loss of the APC primary, despite his open fraternity with Seyi Tinubu, is proof that Ndigbo, including those in APC, are deeply unhappy with President Tinubu.”
He further claimed that the development could be an early sign of what to expect in the 2027 presidential election.
“So, it’s Tinubu that actually lost and it’s an early evidence of what will happen in 2027, as I had earlier foretold. And we all know why,” he added.
Cubana Chief Priest, a popular socialite and businessman, had declared interest in representing the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency under the APC before later announcing his withdrawal from the race.
