The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a final warning to public universities that are yet to start or submit their 2025 admission lists, urging them to act immediately or risk losing their candidates.
At the 2025 policy meeting on admissions (chaired by Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa), it was agreed that:
Public universities must submit first-choice admission lists by September 30, 2025
Private universities have until October 31, 2025
Polytechnics and Colleges of Education must finish by December 31, 2025
The admission window officially closes:
October 31 → Public universities
November 30 → Private universities
December 31 → Polytechnics & Colleges of Education
JAMB said the deadlines are to maintain a structured academic calendar and ensure smooth admission processing across all tiers.
However, the board lamented that some public universities have not uploaded a single admission recommendation to the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) even after their deadline passed.
Universities yet to submit admission lists:
Northwest University, Kano
Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil
University of Science and Technology, Wudil
Benue State University, Makurdi
Abdulkadir Kure University
Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna
Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo
Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Funtua
JAMB warned that if these schools do not comply, unprocessed candidates will be reassigned to the next available institutions.
