President Bola Tinubu has forwarded the name of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State to the Senate for confirmation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The nomination is intended to fill the vacant cabinet slot following the election of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the letter seeking Doro’s confirmation has been sent to the Senate for due consideration.
Dr. Bernard Doro brings a robust professional and political background to the Federal Executive council.
He was born on January 23rd, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro has over two decades of multidisciplinary experience. He is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with frontline experience in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), covering urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice, and hospital settings.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA focusing on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Dr. Doro is also a community leader and political figure who serves as the financial secretary of the APC UK chapter. He has been actively involved in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives both in the diaspora and locally in Nigeria.
