On Monday, 20th, October 2025, the Department of State Services (DSS) has issued an official notice on the upcoming imminent attack plan by members of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist group.
This official notice was directed to the brigade Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery in Owena Cantonment, Akure and it was signed by H.I Kana fsi, State Director of Security Ondo state. According to the notice, the ISWAP intended to carry out their attack on communities in Ondo and Kogi state, and they aimed to throw their attack in a particular locations in Ondo state like Eriti Akoko, Oyin Akoko communities in Akoko North West LGA and Owo town in Owo LGA respectively.
It is also shown that the terrorists have begun their survey on the targeted locations, and call for security alertness in the various communities in order to forestall peace.
The notice reads in part, “Intelligence confirmed plans by members of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist group to carry out coordinated attacks on communities in Ondo and Kogi States anytime soon. Some identified target locations within Ondo State include, Eriti Akoko, Oyin Akoko communities in Akoko North West LGA and Owo town in Owo LGA respectively.”
“It was further gathered that the groups have commenced surveillance on potential soft targets in the above mentioned locations. Consequently, there is a need to scale up the level of security alertness in the various communities to forestall any untoward situation”
“While above is for your information and further action, accept assurances of the highest regards of the State Director of Security, please,” it concluded.
