Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has issued a fierce warning to former US President Donald Trump and the American military, threatening that they will face severe consequences if they proceed with plans to invade Nigeria.
Declaring that Nigeria would become their “graveyard” if any military strike is carried out against the country.
Dokubo’s statement follows recent remarks by Trump, who publicly threatened military action against Nigeria, citing concerns over the alleged killing of Christians and vowing a swift and forceful response if the Nigerian government does not take prompt action to protect religious minorities.
Speaking in a Live broadcast on Facebook, he described the United States as “a country filled with insane people,” adding that it was no surprise such a nation produced Trump as president. Dokubo also dismissed claims that the alleged killings in Nigeria were targeted solely at Christians, insisting that “Muslims are also being massacred.”
The former warlord said, “Let Trump come with his America, they will all die, this lunatic wants to annex Canada, he wants Iceland, wants to kill the president of Venezuela, he wants to kill the Supreme leader of Iran.”
“And that is why when they talk of America, I say it’s a sick country, a country of mad people, insane people, and that is why they can elect a lunatic as their president,” he said.
In a direct address, Asari Dokubo declared that any US military invasion would lead to the death of the invading forces. He emphasized that Nigeria would fiercely resist foreign aggression and warned Trump against underestimating the country’s resolve. Dokubo’s remarks resonate with other Nigerian leaders and public figures who have condemned what they see as unjustified threats, urging national unity and preparedness in the face of potential external military intervention.
