On Sunday, 23rd November, the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had a security meeting with the Service Chiefs over the insecurity that is affecting Nigerians. The meeting arose because of the terrorists that have dominated the various states in Nigeria—kidnapping and killing innocent people.
The meeting held at the state house, Abuja—aimed to review the latest reports and discuss the necessary steps expected to be taken in order to curb the insecurity that is affecting innocent lives. The meeting comprises senior military and security chiefs including Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu (Chief of Army Staff), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke (Chief of Air Staff), Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and Director-General of the Department of State Services Tosin Adeola Ajayi.
During the meeting, the President directed all the securities to take swift action and move with precision, speed and absolute resolve on the matter of insecurity in Nigeria.
He said on his official Facebook page, “I am currently in an extended security meeting with our Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Director-General of the DSS, and heads of our intelligence agencies here at the State House.”
“We are reviewing the latest reports and taking decisive actions to stabilise the affected areas and protect our citizens. I am receiving continuous briefings and have directed our security services to move with speed, precision, and absolute resolve,” he added.
He also assured the Nigerians that those who threaten the peace and security of Nigeria will be punished according to law.
“As President, I am fully committed to the security of all Nigerians. Those who threaten the peace and security of our nation will face the full weight of the law,” he concluded.
