The Federal Government has postponed the physical screening exercise for applicants seeking recruitment into its paramilitary agencies, citing the need to address outstanding logistical and administrative issues.
The exercise is being conducted under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), which oversees recruitment for agencies such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigerian Correctional Service.
In a public notice signed by the Secretary to the Board, the authorities explained that the scheduled physical screening would no longer hold as earlier announced, and that a fresh date would be communicated in due course. The statement urged applicants to remain calm and patient, stressing that the adjustment was aimed at ensuring a smooth, transparent and fair process for all shortlisted candidates, rather than rushing an exercise that was not fully ready.
The Board also reassured young Nigerians who applied that the recruitment exercise has not been cancelled, only rescheduled. Applicants were advised to keep monitoring official channels and the recruitment portal for updates, and to disregard unofficial messages or rumours circulating on social media about alternative dates or venues.
The government reiterated its commitment to giving every qualified applicant a fair chance, while appealing for understanding as it works to resolve the issues that necessitated the postponement.
