The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday urged Nigerians not to lose hope over rising insecurity in the country, assuring believers that “the church will laugh last.”
Adeboye gave the assurance during his sermon titled “The Master Builder” at RCCG’s monthly thanksgiving service, which was broadcast live and monitored by The Legalobserver.
According to him, the current security challenges confronting the nation serve as a reminder that only God can build and protect His church. He emphasised that despite violent attacks targeting worship centres in recent years — including invasions, kidnappings, injuries, and deaths — evil would not prevail.
He said, “When God opens a door, nobody can shut it. And when He shuts a door, no one can open it. So, my children, put your mind at rest. The gates of hell shall not prevail. Whether the devil likes it or not, the church is going to laugh last.”
Adeboye added that God’s work extends beyond building the church, insisting that He also builds individuals, destinies, and futures.
“God said, ‘I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail.’ But God does much more than that — He builds people,” he stated.
The cleric described God as both a master builder and a divine architect who shapes lives according to His purpose.
