The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has released his prophecies for the year 2026, touching on Nigeria’s political landscape, governance, security, and key political actors.
Ayodele unveiled the prophecies during a press conference at his church in Lagos on Saturday, addressing issues ranging from the economy and alleged coup threats to President Bola Tinubu’s political future and developments involving major political parties.
According to Ayodele, the Tinubu administration will introduce multiple policies aimed at stabilising and growing the economy, but the outcomes will fall short of public expectations. He said the government would make concerted efforts to improve economic conditions, though many Nigerians and opposition figures would criticise the policies and their implementation.
He added that public resistance to government actions would increase in 2026, even as the administration intensifies efforts to promote its development agenda.
Ayodele warned that the Federal Government must remain vigilant against possible military unrest, claiming there could be attempts capable of destabilising the administration. He urged the President to engage both serving and retired military officers across the country to strengthen national security.
The cleric said President Tinubu would adopt various strategies to secure public support ahead of a second-term bid. While noting that the President would pursue several policy initiatives, Ayodele claimed poor implementation and internal deception could undermine these efforts and pose challenges to his political ambitions.
Ayodele predicted major reorganisation within the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, including changes to protocols and access procedures, advising heightened vigilance around security.
He alleged that political interests would target Vice President Kashim Shettima’s office, warning of plots to undermine or remove him. Ayodele advised officials within the office to remain cautious and avoid actions that could be misinterpreted.
The cleric claimed the Office of the National Security Adviser would face challenges due to the sensitive nature of its operations, predicting obstacles to the effectiveness of the current leadership.
Ayodele said the Federal Government’s tax reforms would significantly reshape the economy but described them as poorly timed. He predicted widespread public backlash and difficulty in understanding the reforms, despite government efforts to sustain them.
He warned that pensioners could embark on protests and legal action due to delayed payments, leading to increased criticism of the government’s handling of pension matters.
Northern Political Leaders
Ayodele said northern political leaders would be divided ahead of future elections, with loyalties split between President Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and other political interests.
The cleric predicted that Nnamdi Kanu would eventually be released under strict conditions, stressing that timing would be decisive. He also warned of arrests among IPOB leaders and continued confrontations with security agencies.
Ayodele said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would face internal crises and possible legal battles, cautioning against divisions among governors. He predicted organisational challenges for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), instability within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and legal and internal struggles for the Labour Party.
