A video has emerged showing two men allegedly abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State, appealing for urgent intervention as their captors demand a total ransom of $300,000 (approximately ₦428 million) for their release.
One of the abductees has been identified as Hon. Hassan Biu Miringa, a former Vice Chairman of Biu Local Government Area. The identity of the second victim has not yet been confirmed, according to security intelligence expert Zagazola Makama.
The victims disclosed that they were kidnapped on December 17, 2025, while travelling from Miringa to Maiduguri. In the video, recorded under duress, they confirmed they were alive and implored government officials and prominent figures to act swiftly.
“We were abducted on our way from Miringa to Maiduguri around 2:30 p.m. Alhamdulillah, we are alive,” one of the men said. “We are calling on the government and individuals to come to our rescue.”
The captors are reportedly demanding $150,000 per person, totaling $300,000, as the condition for their release. The victims directly appealed to Borno State Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, as well as local lawmakers Hon. Mukhtar Betara Aliyu, Hon. Sule Ali Rimi, Hon. Yakubu Gambo Kimba, and community leader Alhaji Musa Dogo Biu for urgent intervention.
“We are pleading with them to come to our rescue. We are their sons,” one of the abductees said. “They said we must provide $150,000 each. We want to be reunited with our families.”
