Military Uncovers Boko Haram Underground Logistics Facility in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have uncovered an underground logistics storage facility belonging to Boko Haram terrorists in the Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State.

The discovery followed coordinated, intelligence-driven offensives carried out on Sunday in Chilaria, Garin Faruk and Abirma communities, where several terrorist enclaves were overrun.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, Lt. Col. Uba Sani, the operation was conducted under Operation Desert Sanity and led to the destruction of multiple terrorist camps.

He said the underground facility contained fuel, petroleum products, medical supplies, food items and other logistics critical to the terrorists’ operations.

The operation was supported by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, which provided continuous intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, enabling real-time tracking of terrorist movements and preventing reinforcement.

During the clearance operations, troops recovered several items, including Baofeng radios, mobile phones, AK-47 magazines, different calibres of ammunition, Boko Haram and ISWAP flags, diesel-powered equipment, a pick-up truck and large quantities of supplies.

Lt. Col. Sani disclosed that the advancing troops came under drone attacks launched by the terrorists during the operation, but the attacks were successfully repelled, forcing the insurgents to retreat.

He added that troop morale remains high, while security in the area is calm but remains unpredictable, with soldiers on high alert.

The military high command, he said, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the operation until terrorist threats are eliminated and lasting peace is restored in the North-East.
