A Lagos High Court has issued an order restraining actress Doris Ogala and social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) from making any reference to Pastor Chris Okafor or his ministry on social media and other platforms.
The order followed a suit filed by Okafor through his lawyer, Ife Ajayi, marked ID/14399GCMW/2026, in which Kelvin Emmanuel was also named as a defendant. Justice M. A. Savage, who presided over the matter, directed the defendants and their associates to immediately cease publishing or sharing any private materials linked to Okafor, including messages, photographs, videos, or recordings.
The court further ruled that the defendants must not mention, display, or refer to Okafor, his image, or his church—the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry—either verbally or in writing on social media or any other platform. They were also restrained from releasing any materials that could amount to blackmail or extortion while the suit remains pending.
In addition, the court approved substituted service, allowing court documents to be served through newspaper publication. The restraining order will remain in force until the substantive suit is determined.
The ruling followed an interview conducted by VeryDarkMan with a woman identified as Chi Okafor, who claimed to be the cleric’s biological daughter. In the video, she alleged that she and two other women were Okafor’s children and accused him of abandonment. Okafor denied the claims and threatened legal action.
The dispute involving Doris Ogala began weeks earlier after a video of Okafor’s engagement to Pearl Okafor surfaced online. Ogala alleged that she had been in a romantic relationship with the pastor since 2017, claiming she ended her previous marriage at his request and accusing him of betrayal after years of promises. She later demanded marriage or financial compensation, reportedly seeking ₦1 billion for alleged breach of promise.
Despite the controversy, Okafor went on to marry Pearl Okafor in white and traditional ceremonies. While he initially dismissed Ogala’s claims, he later publicly apologised, admitting to their past relationship.
