Abba Atiku, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, says President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in office in 2027, insisting that no political party can defeat him at the polls.
Abba made the assertion on Monday in Yola, Adamawa state capital, after collecting his membership registration card of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Gwadabawa ward in Yola North local government area.
The businessman, who recently joined the ruling party, said his decision to align with the APC was influenced by what he described as far-reaching economic and human development reforms under Tinubu’s administration.
“I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock in 2027,” Abba said.
According to him, Nigerians have begun to appreciate the policies of the current administration, noting that the president’s leadership style is inclusive and merit-driven.
“Nigerians have seen his good work. He is not a tribalist, and he does not make appointments based on religion or region. His decisions are based purely on merit,” he said.
Abba added that he was encouraged by what he described as visible infrastructural development and investments in human capital across the country.
“The president needs our collective support to continue with the good work. We must mobilise people across party lines to support him,” he said.
Abba’s elder brother, Adamu Atiku, remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and currently serves as commissioner for works and energy development in Adamawa state under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar is reportedly seeking to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), although none of his children is a member of the party.
