Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has issued a firm directive requiring all newly appointed commissioners to wear the iconic “Asiwaju cap” associated with President Tinubu at official meetings.
The directive was delivered during the swearing-in ceremony of 20 new commissioners and members of the state’s executive council on October 14, 2025.
He emphasized that the cap symbolizes loyalty and unity under President Tinubu’s leadership, and warned that any commissioner who fails to comply with this dress code will not be tolerated. He stated emphatically that those who come to the executive council meetings without the Tinubu cap will be sent back, underscoring his resolve by saying that he would not forgive anyone who disobeys the order.
This directive highlights the governor’s commitment to ensuring a unified front among his administration as they embark on their duties in Edo State.
