The Nyesom Wike-backed faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee has denied any involvement in an alleged alliance or political gathering with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking in Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, said the party is not part of any coalition, agreement, or political arrangement with the APM or any group regarding the gathering.
He described reports linking the PDP to the Ibadan event as misleading, insisting that any individuals claiming to represent the party in such activities were acting without authorization.
Mohammed also accused Governor Seyi Makinde and his associates of misrepresenting the situation and attempting to create a false impression of political alliances for personal gain.
He said the gathering in Ibadan was being wrongly portrayed as a formal political alliance, adding that the party had not approved or participated in such an arrangement.
The faction maintained that the PDP remains united under its current leadership and is preparing for the 2027 general elections.
The statement also referenced ongoing legal and internal disputes within the party, including actions linked to leadership struggles following a Supreme Court ruling that affected the party’s national convention and structure.
The PDP urged the public to disregard what it called propaganda and misinformation surrounding the Ibadan event, insisting that it remains focused on internal stability and party unity.
