INEC Extends PVC Collection Deadline in Anambra State to November 2 Ahead of Governorship Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved an extension for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State, shifting the deadline from October 29th to November 2nd, 2025. This move is in response to numerous appeals from voters and stakeholders seeking more time to collect their PVCs ahead of the November 8 governorship election.

According to Victoria Eta-Messi, INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity in Anambra, the decision was reached at a commission meeting on October 27th. It covers those registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration exercise across the state’s 326 wards.

“We urge all registered voters who have not yet collected their PVCs to utilize this extension by visiting the designated collection centers. Collection must be done in person; proxy collection is not allowed,” Eta-Messi said.

INEC thanked Anambra residents for their cooperation and reiterated the importance of PVC collection to ensure full participation in the forthcoming election.
