Former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said he would be willing to serve as the running mate to Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso made the statement during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme, noting that he would be happy to work with the former Anambra State governor if selected by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
He said both he and Obi have agreed to collaborate in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges in order to promote peace and stability across the country.
According to him, if the party decides that he should serve as vice-presidential candidate under the right circumstances, he would gladly accept the role.
Kwankwaso added that he believes their partnership could form a strong political combination capable of delivering good governance to the country.
Earlier in the month, both Kwankwaso and Obi joined the NDC after previously being members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
